Today we are as excited as ever to announce that Humanwire’s brick-and-mortar Butterfly Effect Center for displaced children in Bekaa Valley, Lebanon has been awarded a $50,000 USD grant from the Royal China Round Table Foundation (RCRT) based in the United Kingdom. RCRT is a charity which originates and finances impactful projects around the world focused on children’s education, healthcare and support. This grant follows in the footsteps of a recent $10,000 grant from UAE contributor, Ayman Ahmed Fakoussa and the support of individual contributors like yourself who have stepped up to fund a student, one-to-one via Humanwire Education.
In just one year we’ve quickly established and expanded from a single Raspberry Pi computing class into a full-time education center offering computing, Arabic, English, music, recreation and social and health awareness classes. Now, as a result of RCRT’s awesome support, 400 active students, once the most unlikely children in the world to receive an education, are being provided with the opportunity and support to enter side-by-side as our world’s next most educated leaders and thinkers.
