The kids’ mother Suha explains why they fled their town in Idlib, Syria and how they ended up here: “Our village was being bombed which caused the full destruction of our house. That’s why we escaped. But my husband never left. While he was trying to get us out, he was hit by a bomb. His wounds were so great that he died almost immediately. A month after his death, we finally left and made it to this camp in Syria on the Turkish border.”
Suha said she would like to return to her town as soon as she can and begin rebuilding her home. She said she has experience in tailoring and farming and hopes to one day find work in one of these areas to provide for her kids.
