Originally from Homs, Syria these three siblings sleep in a tent on farmland in Lebanon with their other three siblings. After their family’s house was pillaged of everything including even their refrigerator, stove and washing machine, and after their father was kidnapped (and luckily returned unscathed), they fled years ago.
Having spent most their lives moving from place-to-place, only recently have some of the children been enrolled in school. Amina (11) and Iman (9) are in grade 2 and Abdallah (7) is in grade 1.
The kids’ father Firas suffers from kidney stones that have gone untreated. He occasionally works in construction earning $180 USD per month which accounts for the total income for the whole family.
