Salah (3) was born in Damascus, Syria as his parents slept in open fields, schools, abandoned buildings – anywhere they could find a calm sky. Now in Lebanon, three years later, the family is unsure if they will ever return to Syria, stay in Lebanon or find a home abroad.
Salah’s father Walid is an experienced house painter and has managed to find work but only generates $120 USD per month, hardly enough to support his family of five. When asked, the family said their top three needs include food, clothes and shelter beyond a tent.
Young Salah said he would like to have clothes and games.
