Maram (pictured) is five-months-old and was born in Lebanon after her family fled violence in Syria in 2012.

Her parents Rana and Imad lived a happy life in Damascus. Imad (34) grew and sold flowers and Rana raised the kids. Sadly Rana’s two brothers were killed after a strike broke into their home. A year and a half later, they were finally able to escape Syria.

Imad said he enjoys learning English as much as he can and has inspired his daughters to enjoy learning English, too. Rana seeks access to a sewing machine to generate revenue tailoring for others. Imad and Rana have four daughters in total. Warda (10) attends school and hopes to one day become a doctor. Marwa (6) also attends school and loves to draw. Aya (4) likes playing with her older sisters and baby sister Maram. The family desperately needs aide to purchase food and clothes for the children. They remain concerned with their current situation as they have been displaced for several years, falling further into debt, and don’t know when it will become safe to return.

$2500 Goal

We’re getting ready to welcome a new baby into our family. By complete chance, she or he will have the privilege of safety and opportunity. We hope this will remain true for our family.

For so many families, this privilege of security has never existed or was taken from them through no fault of their own. The crisis in Syria is among the most stark and heartbreaking examples of this injustice in our lifetime.

We hope to play a small part in providing safety and security for Maram and her family. If we reach our goal, we’ll kick off another fundraiser for another family.

At least four quarterly emails will be sent to all contributors with status and progress reports related to activity on the campaign. This may include information about the successful transfer of funds to a hospital, a photo of the recipient after a successful surgery, etc.

Contributors will be provided with a local address to send food, clothes, school supplies and letters of support directly to the family’s door. This is a great way to build one-to-one relationships and potentially provide more needed support down the road. Plus, everything included in the $5 reward.

Attend a live video chat session with the host and refugee. Introduce yourself and time-permitting, spark up a conversation along with others involved in the campaign. A translator will be provided for English when needed. Plus, everything included in the $5 and $15 rewards.

Engage in a 30 minute one-to-one live video chat. An arabic translator will be provided for French or English. Plus, everything included in the $5, $15 and $25 rewards.

Everything in the $45 reward, four times! You can give them away to others or enjoy them all yourself. Each of the four rewards comes with everything offered in the $45 reward and below.

Thinking of traveling? Humanwire can help with recommendations for your itinerary. This could be a great opportunity to meet and connect more closely with the refugee family that will be benefitting from your contribution. For dinner, Humanwire will provide local transportation for everyone. Also, everything included in all prior rewards.

No rewards for me thank you (or maybe I would like rewards), I just want to make a donation for a certain amount to Maram.
