Khaled (5) was just under a year old when his family fled their destroyed home in Al Tarimsa, Syria. Khaled’s father Ali was seriously wounded in the blast resulting in the amputation of one of his legs and the development of a severe infection. For treatment, the family was forced to make the hard journey to Turkey.
In Turkey the family jumped from hospital to hospital trying desperately to find effective support for Ali’s wounds. In early 2015, Ali passed away and Khaled’s mother decided to take her children back to her own home, for n Syria. Upon arriving, the family found their home a pile of rubble and decided to turn back to Turkey.
Now on the border inside Turkey, Khaled’s family is living in a refugee camp and needs assistance to make ends meet. The family listed their top needs as a steady source of income, clothing and food.
