Khawla (10), Walaa (8) and Walid (7) live with their parents and four older siblings in a refugee camp in Lebanon. The family fled their home in Syria in 2011 when rebel forces arrived in their area. Since then, they have been living together in a cloth tent. No one ever expected the war to last this long.
Walaa has a disability, and the family’s top priority is getting her treatment. In addition to treatment for Walaa, the family is in need of food, diapers, a heater and help with paying off their debt.
Aisha, the children’s mother, has not found work, though she has experience working on a sewing machine and said she would benefit from having the materials to start a business.
