When heavy bombing began in their hometown of Damascus, Heba (9), Sara (5) and Sali (8) fled to Jordan with their parents. The girls’ father Mohamad said, “I do not know if our house was destroyed by a bomb or not. But we decided to flee – for our lives and for our children.”
In Jordan, Heba and Sali are attending school, but Mohamad worries that if he doesn’t find a job soon he’ll be unable to pay for their continued education. Their mother Sansabeela is also pregnant and will need medical support when the baby arrives. The family receives some food aid, but have a hard time paying for rent and medical expenses.
