“I lived in the city of Aleppo with my family. In the beginning of the war, the region was bombed heavily by shells. We were scared for our lives. A piece of shrapnel broke into our home and hit my husband in the leg. After that, we left everything and fled to Lebanon. Here in Lebanon, my husband died of cancer and I am now alone with my kids.”
Halima would like to provide a better life for her four children, but earning $4 per day harvesting potatoes is not enough to cover basic necessities or for her children’s education.
