Rahaf (5) and her older sister Farah (7) stand in a temporary camp in Lebanon.
The girl’s fled their home in Syria with their mother Amineh when fighting made it unsafe for them to stay. Just as they planned to flee to Lebanon, their home was destroyed in a bombing.
In Syria, Amineh worked in harvest, but has been unable to find stable employment in Lebanon to support the family. Farah dreams of returning to school, but at this time the family cannot afford it. Amineh lists the family’s other needs as food, a carpet, washing machine, blankets and mattresses.
