Aziza (73) and her daughter Nafaa (45) live in a tent in Lebanon. They fled their home in Syria after extremists took over their area. “Extremists got into the region and they were taking a girl from every family, I felt so scared and decided to flee to Lebanon in 2014.”
Aziza has glaucoma and high blood pressure and is unable to work. Nafaa has back problems but works at harvesting potatoes to minimize their growing debt. The women dream of affording healthcare, paying off debts, setting up a stall to support themselves and someday returning home.
