Amara Al Khodor (30) is pictured with eight of her ten children in Al Marj, Bekaa Valley, Lebanon.
Amara ran her own tobacco store in Al Bayada, Homs, Syria while her husband, Shitawi (60) traded goats and sheep. After their home was bombed in April, 2012, the family fled.
Doumoue (13) works on a potato farm for $4/day which accounts for the only income in the family.
The family was hosted via Humanwire in late 2015 to 2016 with an entrepreneurial effort that yeidled Shitawi with a new herd of 15 sheep and a ram though they remain concerned about the upcoming winter with regards to food, heat and rent for their tent.
